Damon Runyon identifies today’s most brilliant early career scientists and funds their innovative cancer research.

Nadya Dimitrova, PhD
Dr. Dimitrova [Robert Blount Family Fellow] is studying the role of a novel class of RNA molecules, lincRNAs, in tumor suppression. By dissecting the mechanism by which lincRNAs influence tumor suppressor pathways, she hopes to identify new markers for cancer diagnosis as well as novel approaches for effective cancer treatment.
Project Title: "Functional characterization of the role of p53-regulated lincRNAs in tumorigenesis"
Institution: Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Sponsor(s) / Mentor(s): Tyler Jacks, PhD
Cancer Type: All cancers
Research Area: RNA
